The second World Conference of Quran Education opened in Bahrain under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.
The Supreme Islamic Affairs Council is organizing the four-day event in cooperation with the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry and the Holy Quran Memorisation International Organisation.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Supreme Islamic Affairs Council President Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al-Khalifa stressed Bahrain’s keenness on promoting Quran teachings.
He hailed the efforts of the Government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa in this regard, citing Bahrainis’ landmark achievements in international Quran contests.
He paid tribute to HM King Hamad for his royal care, welcoming the conference guests and participants in Bahrain and conveyed to them greetings from HM the King.
Islamic World League secretary-general and head of Holy Quran Memorisation International Organisation Dr. Abdulla bin Abdulmohsen Al-Turki addressed the opening ceremony, hailing the efforts of Bahrain to foster Quran teachings.
He thanked Supreme Islamic Affairs Council President Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al-Khalifa for opening the conference for opening the conference on behalf of HM the King.
Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al-Khalifa delivered a speech paying tribute to HM the King and welcome the guests and delegations attending the conference.
He highlighted the efforts of the Government, led by HRH the Premier, and the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry to promote Quran teachings, stressing strong cooperation between the Kingdom and the Islamic World League and the Holy Quran Memorisation International Organisation.
Egyptian Endowments Minister Dr. Talaat Afifi also addressed the opening ceremony, stressing for Muslims to commit to Quran teachings, lauding Bahrain for hosting the conference.
Supreme Islamic Affairs Council President Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al-Khalifa then honoured the Islamic World League and the Holy Quran Memorisation International Organisation and other VIP guests.
He also received commemorative gifts from the Islamic World League and the Holy Quran Memorisation International Organisation. Supreme Islamic Affairs Council President and conference deputy patron Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al-Khalifa also opened a Quran Exhibition, being held on the sidelines.
