Parliament Chairman Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Dhahrani strongly condemned the visit paid by an Iranian Shura Council delegation to the three occupied UAE Islands of Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb and Abu Mousa.
In a statement, the Parliament Speaker slammed the visit as a flagrant violation of the UAE sovereignty and a blatant provocation which would disserve the Iranian-GCC relations.
Al-Dhahrani affirmed the UAE inalienable sovereignty on the three Islands, describing them as an integral part of the UAE territories.
He said that such a provocative visit would neither blur historical facts nor change reality on the ground in any way.
The Parliament Speaker also called on Iran to comply with international covenants and heed good neighbourly relations, reiterating full support for the UAE.
He also rejected any hampering of the peaceful settlement of the dispute, stressing the necessity of reinstating the UAE inalienable rights and putting an end to Iranian occupation.
He also highlighted the need to immediately cease any escalation and dangerous violations, warning against the detrimental pitfalls on GCC-Iranian relations.
