Vice-President of the National Foundation for Human Rights, Abdullah Ahmed Al Dirazi, and the Secretary General of the National Foundation for Human Rights, Chancellor Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Farhan participated in the works of the International Symposium titled Democracy and the Development of Arab regional system.
The symposium was held at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, in cooperation and coordination between the Arab League, UNESCO, and the Arab Foundation for Human Rights in the presence of the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Dr. Nabil Alaraby and with the participation of a number of representatives of international and regional organizations and a number of dignitaries.
The symposium was also attended by UN former General Secretary Dr. Boutros Boutros-Ghali and Head of the Arab network of National Foundations for human Rights, Dr. Ali Bin Smaikh Al-Mirri.
During the symposium, they discussed a number of themes, and in the forefront was the theme concerned with the applications of the wise governance in the Arab course and the transition’s duties to democracy and its relationship with the wise governance.
They also discussed the development patterns and ways to achieve social justice, as well as citizenship, development as the basis of social justice, ways to empower women in the Arab World, and developing the mechanisms of the Arab League in variable world, in terms of the challenges and opportunities.
On the sidelines of the symposium a special session on the role of youth in the development of Arab society was held.
