The Kingdom of Bahrain has emerged as model democracy, thanks to the reforms unveiled by His Majesty King 12 years ago, a Shura Member said.
“Bahrain being a host of the 7th meeting and 8th conference of the Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa, also called ASSECAA, has further bolstered Bahrain’s position as a model democracy in the region,” Abdulrahman Jawahery, Shura Member told The24X7 News.
“This is a great effort to bring 24 nations from both Africa and Arab region in Manama and to discuss the co-operation, challenges and opportunities in political and economic fields,” Abdulrahman Jawahery, who is also President of GPIC, on the sidelines of the two-day 7th meeting and 8th conference of the Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World, said.
Talking about Bahrain’s assuming of Presidency of ASSECAA, Jawahery said that it reflects the confidence of two dozen countries in the Kingdom’s capabilities and commitment to the democracy and further cooperating and sharing experiences with other nascent democracy.
“This is very exciting and extraordinary moment for Bahrain to serve as a Chair of ASSECAA and it will further help Bahrain to develop its expertise and political wisdom by working side by side with other Arab and African countries under one umbrella,” he said.
“Bahrain is handling its affairs including the continuous interference by different groups and countries into the internal affairs of the Kingdom very maturely. We continue to work as a team work with other countries by resolving all outstanding issues, if any, through dialogue,” he said.
“Those who are trying to sabotage Bahrain’s success story through conspiracies will never succeed as the leadership and people of Bahrain are on the same page as far as the national direction is concerned.
