The diner was held at Sofitel Hotel.
During the reception dinner, industry and Commerce Minister delivered a speech stating that notable business mission commemorates His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa’s historic State Visit to Japan in April 2012. His Majesty’s summit meeting with His Imperial Majesty, the Emperor of Japan unfolded unprecedented opportunities for mutual cooperation between our two friendly nations. It is now up to the business community in both countries to take advantage of these opportunities and the Bahrain-Japan Business Forum tomorrow should provide the right impetus to take forward the ‘Summit Meeting’ initiatives to the next level of formulating concrete plans for mutual cooperation.
HRH the Crown Prince last month reinforced these relations much further
Dr. Fakhro also confirmed that Japan’s economic development remains a model for many developing countries that can learn valuable lessons on assimilating advanced industrial technologies and organisational advances and maintaining high productivity in all spheres of activities – be it industry, commerce or services. The private sector in Japan has been extraordinarily creative in searching out and learning to use modern technologies. The interaction between private entrepreneurial activities and public policy over a period of time has led to development of sound industrial systems and a robust manufacturing sector.
Dr. Fakhro added that the First Bahrain-Japan Business Forum also commemorates the 40th anniversary of establishing formal diplomatic relations between Japan and Bahrain. However, we must remember that our trade relations are much older; going back to 1934 when the first oil shipment was shipped to Japan from our oil field.
