Bahrain and Saudi Arabia have agreed to ease the flow of trucks on King Fahd Causeway. Customs Affairs President Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa today reached the deal following a meeting with Saudi Al-Khobar Governor Suleiman Al-Thenayan.
The meeting was attended by King Fahd Causeway Customs director Ghannam Saleh Al-Ghanim and other Saudi and Bahraini officials. The priority will be given round the clock to unloaded trucks, damageable merchandise and GCC national industries.
Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa had given directives to ensure the smooth flow of trucks from and to Bahrain via King Fahd Causeway.
Al-Khobar Governor Suleiman Al-Thenayan stressed keenness on the smooth flow trade movement between the two countries. He directed Al-Khobar Traffic Directorate and the Customs – Saudi side – to ensure the smooth flow of trucks on the vital artery linking Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
