Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the king and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), received the President of “MERCY Malaysia” Foundation Dr. Jameela Mahmood, marking her winning of the Isa Award for Service to Humanity for 2013.
HRH Princess Sabeeka congratulated Dr. Jameela on being the winner of the first edition of the Award in recognition of her innumerable contributions in the service of humanity and keenness to project a civilised and real image of the Muslim women that emantes from the values and precepts of Islam which called for protecting and serving human beings.
HRH Princess Sabeeka asserted Dr. Mahmood’s contributions to providing relief aid for affected countries was, in itself, the best message to promote the culture of voluntary work outside national boundaries and show its good impact on enhancing solidarity between societies to serve humanity, without distinction or geographical considerations.
She pointed out that women played a vital and effective role in the field of relief through providing all kinds of support for the victims in times of crises or disasters, which, she said, testified to women’s resolve to contribute to all fields of life.
She praised Dr. Jameela’s ability to showcase her experience and sustainable work at international gatherings, wishing her continuous success.
HRH Princess Sabeeka also praised the noble values of the Isa Award for Humanity Services which reflected the good efforts made by the Late Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa to lay the foundation basis for the modern state in Bahrain, affirming that the Award will highlight Bahrain’s humanitarian visions, openness and support for peace.
Dr. Jameela expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH Princess Sabeeka for congratulating her on winning the prestigious Isa Award for Services to Humanity and constant support for women’s role in the development and nation-building efforts.
She also expressed pride in the crucial role played by the Supreme Council for Women in advancing Bahraini women.
