Under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) hosted HH Sheikh Khalid bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa Private School under 16 Cricket Tournament at the Awali Cricket Club.
Present at the tournament was Ebrahim Talib Bapco’s Deputy Chief Executive for Refining and Marketing. The tournament is being held at the level of private schools of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and it aims at encouraging the talents of the sport of cricket nationwide.
The tournament also aims to further enhance the ties between students outside schools. The tournament is being held till 02nd June 2013 with participation of many schools including the Indian School, the Pakistani School, the Asian School, the Ibn Al Haitham Islamic School, the Pakistan Urdu School, the Combined School, the New Millennium School and the Rest of School.
Bapco’s Deputy Chief Executive, Ebrahim Talib expressed Bapco’s pride in hosting the event, hailing the high standard of its arrangements, wishing the tournament and all participating teams every success and good luck.
“The hosting of the tournament is part of Bapco’s ongoing efforts aimed at encouraging the sports activities,” Bapco’s Manager Public Relations, Naji Ahmed said. “These initiatives stem from Bapco’s firm belief in the key role assumed by sports in fostering the overall development and the aspired welfare of the society.”
