State Minister for Communication Affairs Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa visited Huawei international company, which is operating regionally from Bahrain.
He was welcomed by the company’s Board Chairman senior officials and directors.
The Minister toured the company, accompanied by the Chinese Ambassador to Bahrain Li Chen and was briefed on the company’s departments, tasks and activities.
Shaikh Fawaz also toured the company’s training center where he was introduced to Huawei training programmes.
He pointed out the company’s support to national communications sector by having trained more than 400 Bahrainis by end 2011.
The Minister signed an agreement with Huawei on training 1000 Bahrainis per year and cooperates with the Ministry of Labour to employ Bahraini graduates.
It is to note that Huawei is a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider. It has been operating in the Middle East for over 10 years and has built several landmark ICT projects within Bahrain including work on the recent IT outsourcing projects for customers across the kingdom.
