Government development plans are aimed at achieving welfare, prosperity and better living standards for peoples, according to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
“Freedoms and liberties in any country are protected by the citizens’ commitment to national responsibility and consolidation of its security and stability,” HRH said.
HRH Premier stressed that unity among countries have become necessary to protect member states’ interests and national achievements, adding that GCC countries can achieve unity through implementing the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to move from the cooperation phase to a union one.
This came as HRH Premier received the President and members of the Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World.
HRH Premier highlighted the importance of consolidating ties between Arab and African countries in order to take optimum advantage of the two sides’ huge potentials to support sustainable development projects, achieve common interests and ensure a more stable and prosperous future.
He emphasised that the increasing challenges currently facing the world require developing countries to strengthen ties between them in order to agree on an integrated development model based on their natural and human resources.
HRH Prime Minister highlighted the important role of Arab and African legislative bodies in enhancing joint coordination, opening up new cooperation horizons and promoting global peace and stability.
The Prime Minister welcomed Bahrain’s hosting of the 7th meeting and 8th conference of the Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World, praising the Association’s crucial role in bolstering Arab-African relations, and efforts to promote the values of democracy and human rights and protect women’s rights.
He said that Bahrain backed all regional and international efforts aiming to build bridges of communication between nations and peoples through balanced policies aiming to make the world more secure, stable and prosperous.
He expressed hope that the Association’s meeting would yield positive results and recommendations that can upgrade Arab-African cooperation in various fields.
President and members of the Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World commended HRH Premier’s support for efforts to enhance Arab-African relations and landmark contributions in this regard.
They also thanked the Kingdom for hosting their meeting, praising the progress witnessed by the kingdom at all levels, especially the democratic and legislative ones.
