Professor Paulson during the inaugural presentation of the Isa Award for Service to Humanity revealed that the winner Malaysian humanitarian worker Dr Jameela Mahmood was emerged as number one choice for the award out of total 51 nominations received from across the world.
He asserted that such an award should be thought of as an investment in the promotion of good values, adding that the recognition that comes with the award shines a spotlight on someone who deserves to be a role model. He stressed that only through such values children will understand that human greatness lies in simplicity and altruism, adding that their models should be people who care more for others than themselves. Then, a documentary on Dr. Jameela Mahmood’s achievements was presented showing her efforts in disaster prevention and relief, education, community service, environment protection, climate change, and poverty alleviation.
