His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has affirmed the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination between the Executive and Legislative branches so as to ensure speedy approval and implementation of laws and legislations, including the law regulating the press, printing and publishing, and the leasing, real estate development and traffic laws.
He pointed out that the government’s plans to improve the investment atmosphere, increase economic growth, consolidate democratic freedoms and protect the environment require speedy approval of the necessary laws, which, he added, can be achieved only through more government-parliament cooperation.
This came as HRH Prime Minister received at the Gudaibiya Palace a number of senior officials, in the presence of the Speaker of the Representatives Council Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani, Chairman of the Shura Council Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh and a number of MPs.
HRH Premier stressed that the nation and the citizens top the government’s agenda, noting that doors are wide-open for those seeking to enrich national action, and that any initiatives aiming to support and back the steady steps made to achieve economic growth, political stability and democratic development are most welcome.
He underlined that democracy should be the framework that protects the homeland and safeguards it against foreign interference, and not be exploited to serve special agendas.
HRH Prime Minister expressed pride in the patriotic stances of the Bahraini people throughout history, describing them (stances) as milestones in the kingdom’s history and present.
“We will not be affected by the media campaigns staged against us, and we know best our landmark achievements that cannot be denied only by the ungrateful,” he said, calling upon national media to assume its role in refuting lies and proving their falseness to the world.
In another context, HRH Premier asserted that qualitative leaps have made in the fields of health and therapeutic services in the kingdom, and called for the need to maintain those advanced levels and even develop them further, noting that the continuity of cooperation between the Executive and Legislative branches is the best way to achieve that.
