As part of the ongoing investigations in jail plot which was foiled by the security forces and arrested eight alleged terrorists and recovered sophisticated weapons and ammunition from their possession. The names of the arrested fugitives have been made public while hunt is on going for another suspect who managed to flee the scene.
The names of the suspects arrested on charges relating to the jail-break plot are Hussain Jassim Isa Al Bana, 23, unemployed; Mohammed Abudlbani Mohammed Ali, 22, unemployed; Sayed Jaffar Alawi Ahmed, 21, an employee; Hassan Adam Ali Qahar, 53, an employee; Ali Hassan Adam Ali, 24, a student; Nedhal Ali Mohammed Isa, 30, unemployed; Sayed Hashim Redha Hassan, 22, an employee and Mohammed Abas Ibrahim Mahdi, 25, an employee. The search continues for Ali Ahmed Al Asfoor, 24, unemployed, who is also wanted on charges relating to the failed plot.
Two Kalashnikovs, 143 Kalashnikov bullets, 5 loaded magazines and 1 gun were confiscated from the fugitives. Anyone with any information is asked to call the police hotline at 80008008. All calls are treated as anonymous.
“As part of the Interior Ministry’s duty to protect the security, stability and safety of the Kingdom of Bahrain, a jail-break plot that targeted the Detention Center has been foiled. Some of the suspects in the plot were arrested with guns and ammunition in their possession.
Eight suspects were arrested between June 21-22 that is charged with planning to assist in the escape of some detainees. The police investigation revealed a detailed plan drafted by the gang, in which they intended to use a rental car to enter the jail, shoot the policemen guarding the center and take hostages,” the police in a statement said.
During the arrest of the suspects, guns that were to be used in the jail-break were confiscated. A map of the entrance and exists of the center was also found in their possession. The investigation has revealed that the suspects are members of the terror cell known as Al Imam Army that previously was discovered to be targeting important sites in Bahrain.
Investigators found that the cell had received financial support and training from groups in Iran, Lebanon and Iraq in order to increase the recruitment of members to implement their plots.
The cell members are linked to a person named Bunasser from Iran and were trained in hunting, live fire and the use of RPGs and other high-powered weapons.
