Deputy Chairman of the organizing committee of the 2013 UN Public Service Forum and e-Government Authority Marketing and Awareness Assistant Director, Mohammad Zeid Al-Asfoor confirmed the 2013 UN Public Service Forum been held in Bahrain is an evidence on the Kingdom’s ability to organize international events and its interest to develop public service and praising the support of the wise leadership and all State’s authorities.
Al-Asfoor told a press conference held on the sideline of the Forum, the Kingdom of Bahrain aims to benefit from experiences of leading countries in this field, and he welcomed the participating delegations in the awards ceremony of the 2013 UN Public Service Forum that has been hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain from 24 – 27 June 2013, in cooperation and coordination between the e-Government Authority and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA).
He noted Bahrain’s experience in the field of providing public services and its keenness to develop them, pointing out the e-Government Authority takes into account opinions of the public and relevant authorities through conducting direct communication and surveys annually to measure the extent of the satisfaction of the public and those concerned authorities in our services as they are considered our partners and the focus of these services.
The 2013 UN Public Service Forum is the largest global gathering focuses on the achievements and challenges of public service, and the United Nations Award for Public Service is the highest international award to honor service institutions and quality projects from around the world, which contribute to the development of public and e-services. The Kingdom of Bahrain is the fourth country in the world and the first in the Middle East to host and organize this forum since it was first launched ten years ago.
