The Cultural Attaché in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Embassy in the United States of America participated in the NAFSA International Conference hosted at St. Louis, in the State of Missouri.
The Cultural Attaché in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Embassy, Ayesha Murad, presented an overview on education in Bahrain highlighting the Ministry of Education’s efforts in upgrading education through accomplishments in accordance with the (Education for All) Report issued by UNESCO in 2011 which confirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain has ranked on top of the Education for All Index in the Arab world and ranked third in the Education Quality internationally.
The Cultural Attaché showcased the Ministry of Education’s efforts in terms of harnessing technology in education in line with the HM the King Project for Future Schools and the role of UNESCO-King Hamad Award in harnessing telecommunications and IT technologies in education to boost scientific research in this field. Regarding curriculum development, she shed light onto developing the syllabus of Citizenship Education and Human Rights.
She also highlighted the experiment of assimilation of students with special needs into governmental schools, citing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s efforts in expanding opportunities in higher education thanks to the scholarships grants at prestigious international universities and satisfaction of legislative and regulatory structures for higher education in Bahrain through the Council of Higher Education. NAFSA Conference was attended by many institutions of general and higher education from the United States of America and has been an opportunity for convergence of academicians and education specialists.
