Shura Council’s Member Rabab Al-Arrayedh has accentuated that the Kingdom of Bahrain provides legal and constitutional channels which ensure citizens’ participation in decision-making processes, pointing out that Bahraini citizens’ capacity to express their opinion and influence parliamentary resolutions in favor of citizens’ demands, citing new advantages passed by both parliamentary chambers earlier on in favor of disabled persons, increasing legally-prescribed financial allocations to them, ascribing this to the effective participation of societies which nurture disabled persons citing their pressures during deliberation vis-à-vis the bill of law in both chambers.
Shura Council Member Rabab Al-Arrayedh led the Kingdom of Bahrain’s parliamentary delegation to the regional forum on developing the relationship between citizens and parliaments in the Arab region currently hosted in the headquarters of the Moroccan Parliament.
The discussions continued for the second day of the forum aimed to find measures capable of improving representational functions in Arab parliaments. The forum also included a workshop on the subject of laying down behavioral conduct rules in parliamentary action and points of strength and points of weakness.
The forum was attended by a number of delegations from parliaments in the region, experts in strategic and technical support in parliaments as well as representatives from the International Parliamentary Confederation and the UNDP.
The forum also discussed the outcomes of the 1st International Parliamentary Report on the relationship between parliaments and citizens in the Arab region.
