A parliamentary delegation, led by the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee at the Representatives Council MP Abdulrahman Rashid Boumajeed, left for Moscow where the delegation will explore avenues of co-operation in order to consolidate the existing ties.
MP Boumajeed said that during the one weeklong visit, prepared for a long time ago, the delegation will discuss ways of consolidating relations between the Representatives Council in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian State Duma, and exchanging of legislative expertise, and inform Russian officials about the landmark achievements attained thanks to the pioneering Reform Project spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, as well as the stances of the Bahraini people towards local, regional and global issues.
Ways of enhancing trade exchange, expanding joint investment areas and activation of the trade agreements signed between the two friendly countries will also be reviewed during the visit.
MP Boumajeed affirmed the delegation’s respect for all views expressed about the visit.
The delegation is expected to hold meetings with Russian officials, including Duma’s deputy Speaker and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, First Deputy Chairman of the Federal Council and Deputy Foreign Minister.
The delegation includes MPs Ahmed Al-Mulla, Sawsan Taqawi, Ali Al-Derazi, Jawad Bu Hussain and Ahmed Al-Saati.
