In line with the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) culture of caring for Bapco and Contractors employees, the Ergonomics Committee of the company recently launched the “Ergonomics Road show 2013” as part of its ongoing activities aimed at fostering the health welfare of the employees. In this regard, the committee members visited individual workstations and conducted short observations to educate the employees about office safety.
“The committee focuses on four main areas office chair, computer workstation including, display screen, keyboard and mouse, housekeeping and electrical cable management,” Manager Public Relations Naji Ahmed, said.
“The committee aims to prevent injury or ill-health occurring as a result of poor ergonomics; to proactively evaluate the ergonomic working environment and improve ergonomic issues within Bapco including Office Ergonomics and Manual Handling”, he added. “The road show also aims to promote both best practices for Bapco employees and the general public,” he added.
