The United Nations Industrial Development (UNIDO)’s Entrepreneurship Development and Investment Promotion Program (EDIP) Head, Dr. Hashim Hussein, said that the United Nations has listed the Entrepreneurship Programme as one of the key instruments for development, praising the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pioneering and unique experience in entrepreneurship.
This came during the fifth workshop organized as part of the activities of the United Nations Public Service Forum (UNPSF2013) at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) themed: Mechanisms to create suitable environment for business and economic development through creativity and e-Government.
The workshop was attended by participants from 18 countries. The workshop was organized by the UNIDO in association with the UNIDO-affiliated Arab Center for Business Entrepreneurship and Investment in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The forum provides opportunity to know leading international expertise and experiences from all over the world as per UN model. Dr. Hussein added that we are looking forward to developing this model and applying it on a wide scope in order to help accomplish the new millennium development goals.
According to the Head to UNIDO’s Investment Promotion Programme in Manama , Dr. Hashim Hussein, the workshop is slated to issue the (Manama Declaration for Business Entrepreneurship and Development) which will be submitted to the United Nations’ General Secretariat in New York, USA.
The Entrepreneurs Dialogue meeting held simultaneously with this workshop for its declaration. This explains the considerable significance of this workshop and its recommendations, especially as it deals with a series of successful experiences.
