The Minister of State for Information Affairs cum Government’s Official Spokesperson, Samira Ibrahim bin Rajab, emphasized that the Kingdom of Bahrain has been under the brunt of a massive Iranian campaign aimed to destabilize the Kingdom of Bahrain through propagation of false rumors and disinformation intended at the defamation of the Kingdom and instigation against Bahrain at international functions.
The Minister told the Kuwait-based (Al-Rai) daily newspaper that Iran exploits Bahrain’s weakness in terms of a certain existing (unpatriotic) political current and that Iran seeks to cross over the Kingdom into the Arabian Peninsula in order to implement Iran’s historic scheme at the present time which Iran deems suitable. The Minister pointed out that, historically-speaking, the rise of the Persian state was linked with the weak situation of the Arab region. Tehran has two focal points namely the Huthis of Yemen in the south and Iraq in the north. Iran wants to make Bahrain its third focal point in the east, apart from its focal point in Lebanon’s Hezbollah.
The Minister added that there is something taking place in the region as a whole and not in the Gulf alone, pointing out that there is a big scheme aimed to dismantle the region into sub-projects one of which is Iran which aims to effectively exploit the situations. The Minister urged GCC countries maintain solid unity in the face of Iran’s big plot and its ramifications.
And regarding the internal situation in the Kingdom, the Minister of State for Information Affairs cum Government’s Official Spokesperson stated that there is a phenomenal tiny segment (of people) with external connections are ostensibly raising demands for reformation whilst hiding dangerous (latent) political agenda devoid of national responsibility plus disinformation campaign and rumor mongering.
The Minister revealed Bahrain’s susceptibility to a vicious ideological invasion since 1979 and lack of clear visions, even no strategic study centers talked about this, especially as local opponents who are connected to abroad have exploited all instruments in order to portray themselves as a marginalized, segregated minority and purported suffering from human rights’ violations; amidst total absence of official visions to encounter such invasion and campaigns.
The Minister exposed all Iranian lies and disinformation of alleged torture of opposition members in Bahraini prisons, pointing out that Bahrain has always been transparent regarding prisoners which is unprecedented in the Arab region and even in Iran, especially as the Kingdom of Bahrain has always opened its prisons to international human rights organizations and delegations, including the UN Human Rights Commissioner, and that anyone who visited Bahrain from these organizations was allowed access into prisons whenever they requested. The Minister asserted that the Kingdom of Bahrain has very urbane, clean prisons which provide variety nutritious meals, free access to telecommunications, psychiatric doctors and consultants who serve prisoners.
Samira Ibrahim bin Rajab, cited the Kingdom of Bahrain’s ongoing reformation initiative by releasing all prisoners from prison, pointing out that Bahrain has already surmounted the worst phase of unrest and security-breaching incidents exploited by Iran to the hilt.
The Minister went on to say that there was an electronic linkage between police stations in the aftermath of Bahrain’s unrest, plus mounted police patrols, installation of location-finding systems, detention hours’ counting systems (which should not exceed 48 hours after which a detainee should be referred to Public Prosecution).
The Minister slammed sectarian strife of whatsoever origins now active in Bahrain, asserting that sectarian strife has caused social and political divisionism which adversely affects the civil state and even liberties experienced in the country throughout its history. She said that such (antagonist) currents pretended to be reform seekers, who expanded and took control of the country by exploiting religions pulpits and faking democracy.
And regarding the initiative of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa establishing an Award for Service to Humanity Award in commemoration of the late Amir His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa for Service to Humanity Award; Samira Ibrahim bin Rajab said that this initiative of HM the King came in honor of and to commemorate the late Amir. She pointed out that the panel, tasked to nominate the personality who has rendered humanitarian services, follows realistic criteria for nomination. The clue to this was that this year’s winner, Dr. Jameela Mahmoud, who provided humanitarian services, had not been known or publicized.
