Kingdom of Bahrain’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Humoud Bin Abdullah Al Khalifa warned Iran that history will never return backwards, describing its interference in Bahrain and GCC Affairs of being blatant, stressing that the interference reflects expansionist ambitions that target the entire Arab region.
According to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), in an interview published by Al-Hayat Newspapers in London, Shaikh Humoud asserted that the clock will never go back, and the Iranian officials have to know that time has greatly changed, and free nations do not accept that and times have changed a lot, and that free nations do not accept the hegemony, reinforcing that the world today rejects expansion and occupation.
Shaikh Humoud also added that Kingdom of Bahrain is facing a hostile and a tendentious attack from the Iranian regime and its allies at the various political, security and media levels. He also called on Arab and Islamic countries, as well as the international community to pay attention to the danger posed by the Iranian regime to the security of the Gulf region, the Arab world and world peace.
Shaikh Humoud described the statements of the Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister, Hussain Amir Abdullahyan, who pointed out that Kingdom of Bahrain is an Iranian Governorate, that they are colonial, highlighting that these allegations are hollow and are not based on logic or historical reference.
Shaikh Humoud also said that few centuries before, the Iranians passed through Bahrain as invaders, occupation power and a foreign domination, and were confronted by Bahrainis, who kicked them off for ever from their homeland. He also pointed out that it is rather better for the Iranians to reconsider their policies, and be extremely aware of the lessons benefited from those who preceded them and followed the policy of expansion, arrogance, domination and inciting ethnic, sectarian and terrorist trends, and embraced the terrorist organizations, which lead to no results.
Bahrain’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia reinforced that the people of Bahrain strongly replied to the Iranian allegations since Shah of Iran’s claims, in the early seventies of the last century, demanding Bahrain, after the announcement of Britain’s withdrawal from the region. The Bahrainis unanimously stressed through a referendum patronized by United Nations and its special envoy that their desire was to have an independent Arab state enjoying its sovereignty, and rejected anything else.
Shaikh Humoud added that the Bahraini people asserted their commitment to Arabism, and independence of their country when the majority, which approached to consensus, voted on the National Action Charter, where 98.4% approved on that, and which led to Bahrain’s new Constitution in 2001, and the democratic measures, as well as the continuity of parliamentary and political life that followed.
Shaikh Humoud renewed his assertion that His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa is leading a comprehensive National Reform Project, highlighting that the Iranian regime falls in a severe contradiction, for it defends its ally in Syria, although it practices tyranny, oppression and sectarianism against the Syrian people, while on the other hand claims protecting human rights and freedom in Bahrain.
Shaikh Humoud said that the Iranian regime imposes its influence on a part of the Bahraini people, and gives itself the right to participate with the Syrian regime in the killing of the Syrian people, while assuming the mere presence of the Peninsula shield forces of GCC in Kingdom of Bahrain considering it a foreign occupation.
Shaikh Humoud wondered about the reason for the presence of thousands of Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Syria, and the militia of the Lebanese Hezbollah, which are known as one of the arms of the Revolutionary Guards, and the known role in confronting the Syrian opposition.
“It is time to break silence, and everyone in the Arab world should assume their responsibilities, for the false masks have fallen one after the other,” Shaikh Humoud added.
Shaikh Humoud said that what has become known as the Bahraini crisis, is considered a classification that has drifted away from reality, for Bahrain doesn’t face any internal problem, but there are some who send away their problems and internal crises to Bahrain through coup plotting and planning, paying for those who they support and incite sectarian tendencies.
Shaikh Humoud added that the region’s security and stability require the cooperation of everyone to confront the Iranian plans, calling on Tehran to reconsider the situation, and to stop its aggressive and provocative acts, and be committed to the principles known in the international policy, including understanding, the good-neighborliness and mutual respect.
Shaikh Humoud lauded Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s stances supporting Kingdom of Bahrain King, leadership or people in addressing challenges, political and security pressures, and the media campaigns it is facing.
“Those stances are known about the big sister, which follows the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HM King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister, HRH Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Second Deputy, the Chancellor and the Special Envoy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HRH Prince Meqrin Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud,” Shaikh Humoud said.
Shaikh Humoud pointed out the depth of the strong historical and brotherly relations between the two countries and their leaderships, describing such relations of being strategic with solid roots, and preserved by Arabism and Islam ties.
