Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro on Monday renewed government and Ministry support to young entrepreneurs and micro, small and medium enterprise (SMEs)s, which according to him, are the main contributors to the GPD for many countries of the world, including Bahrain. “The Kingdom of Bahrain treats SMEs on the top priority as part of the national strategy,” the Minister added.
This came during launching “Entrelab” Entrepreneurship Project at Seef Mall, and was attended by American Ambassador Thomas Krajeski, organized by the US Embassy in cooperation with Tenmou (Bahrain Business Angels Company). The Minister stressed the importance of such events and its role in identifying entrepreneurs and projects, which are mostly small projects but innovative in business sector. These projects is expected to emerge and grow steadily especially in light of strong support received from the government and the Ministry, which adopts many supportive program in this sector.
During the opening ceremony, Dr. Fakhro toured the stalls and listened to a brief summary of each start-up business. On this occasion, the minister commended the excellent products of entrepreneurs participating and admired the innovative products that meet consumers’ needs nowadays. The praised the role played by US Embassy in supporting entrepreneurs sector.
It should be noted that that Entrelab project is non-profit program that will provide young Bahraini entrepreneurs that chance to showcase and sell their innovative products or services in Seef Mall for two months, starting in June.
