In keeping with the company’s commitment to providing secure and a comfortable travel experience at Bahrain International Airport (BIA), Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) liaised with its’ partners to attend the Aviation Security Management programme in Singapore.
Held at Singapore Aviation Academy, the training course provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the overarching principles of security management in airports and showcased the best practices in line with the International Civil Aviation Organization standards.
To ensure efficient and safe passengers and cargo movement at the airport, BAC works in partnership with the public and private sectors. To this end, members of BAC partners attended the training to ensure synergy of security activities and measures at BIA, including: Customs and Airport Police from the Ministry of Interior, Civil Aviation Authority, and Bahrain Aviation Fuelling Company (BAFCO).
Fouad Farooq, Head of Airside Services at BAC was among the programme participants, where he praised this initiative and said “In the light of the increasing passengers and cargo movement worldwide, aviation security is crucial to maintain and stimulate the growth of this vital sector. Bahrain is no different as airport security is given a significant attention, which is clearly evident by attending this leading training course.”

This set to improve the Kingdom‘s aviation capabilities; and to cater for the growing number of passengers as well as the changing demands of the airport’s stakeholders.
