Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) held a meeting with the General Directorate of Traffic, at Baet Al-Tijaar, to discuss a number of problems and difficulties facing the transport sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and means to overcome those issues, in the presence of the Head and members of the Joint Committee of both sides.
During the meeting, the BCCI demanded to intensify traffic patrols to eliminate the illegal workers who have been working as heavy vehicles transport drivers, and discussed the possibility of allowing other bodies to provide heavy vehicles training instructors due to the shortage of driving instructors, in addition to providing updated data in the computer system of the King Fahd Causeway.
BCCI called for tightening controls on trucks registration and providing qualified staff at the Traffic Department to respond to various queries. BCCI thanked the cooperation and responsiveness of Traffic Department to the demands of the merchants in order to serve the transport sector representatives in the country.
On its part, the General Directorate of Traffic pointed out the new traffic law, which is expected to be issued soon, will ensure solving most of the problems related to organizing practicing the profession of transport, and confirmed its willingness to cooperate fully with the BCCI to overcome the obstacles and difficulties facing the sector, welcoming all proposals and recommendations have been put forward during the meeting and considering complaints and proposals concerned.
