As part of ongoing terrorist activities aimed at disrupting the civil life in Bahrain, terrorists killed an on-duty police officer who received serious injuries during a bomb attack on the Police Station in Sitra area on Saturday late evening.Two other policemen were also injured in the attack and being being treated at a hospital with no details of gravity of their injuries.
The Chief of Public Security confirmed the death of an on-duty policeman, Yasser Dhaib, on Saturday at 10:16pm in Sitra Wadyan. “The policeman was fatally injured in an explosion caused by a homemade bomb,” the Chief of Public Security, added.
The Chief said that police had confronted a group of individuals who were targeting Sitra Police Station. While police were securing the area, a homemade bomb was detonated in a terror act that led to the death of Yasser Dhaib. The explosion also injured two additional police personnel who were transferred to the hospital for treatment.
The Chief said that police secured the area and examined the crime scene. An investigation was launched to identify and apprehend those responsible.
