His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister hosted an Iftar for the Ministry of Interior at the Public Security Officers Club. The majlis was attended by the Minister of Interior Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of State for Interior Affairs Major-General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel and a number of Ministry officials.
HRH the Crown Prince exchanged Ramadan greetings with those present, noting that the holy month was an occasion to honour fundamental principles and noble Islamic values of righteousness, justice and equality when carrying out one’s duties.
HRH the Crown Prince also referred to the role of the Ministry of Interior in maintaining security and stability while protecting citizens and offering reassurance to them. Security and stability are fundamental requirements for the development and growth of the Kingdom, and for the realisation of reform efforts led by His Majesty King Hamad, HRH stressed, noting that sustainable development was not possible without security.
He noted that the devotion of the people of Bahrain was a source of strength against attempts to sow division and distort national achievements. He said that all acts of terrorism and violence, and attempts to disrupt security, would be dealt with according to the law.
HRH the Crown Prince offered his support for the security services in performing their national duty to protect the people, adding that any attempts to target them must be challenged and condemned.
He commended the role of the security services and of the Ministry of Interior in maintaining the rule of law and justice, and protecting the people’s rights and freedoms.
He also affirmed that to achieve sustainable political and social stability, there must be joint responsibility to protect the fundamentals of the nation and to build trust within society.
HE the Minister of Interior thanked HRH the Crown Prince for his support, noting that the security services and the military personnel would continue to maintain a high level of service while performing their duties and would remain committed to the directions of the Supreme Commander with regard to maintaining security and stability, enforcing the rule of law, and safeguarding the people’s rights.
