His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister visited the majlis of Al Asfoor, Al Musallam and Al Buainain.
During the visits His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of setting clear government priorities, for both immediate results and to maintain long-term delivery. He further emphasised that the ultimate priority for government is the Bahraini citizen, as economic and developmental projects are redundant if they are not in the best interest of all citizens.
His Royal Highness highlighted that his appointment as First Deputy Prime Minister was a royal decree by His Majesty King Hamad, and that he is looking forward to fully carrying out all the responsibilities attached to the role, and, in doing so, fully supporting His Royal Highness the Prime Minister.
With reference to the recent field visits, and meetings with government officials, His Royal Highness stated that the aim of these was to determine government priorities and to develop the government programme.
His Royal Highness noted that the role of the majlis is an important tradition, which allows relationships and connections to be strengthened, and provides the opportunity for interaction between many parts of society. He remarked that true citizenship relies on two inseparable pillars: rights and duties; one cannot work without the other.
His Royal Highness emphasised that His Majesty maintains the approach of grandfathers before: of keeping the leadership equally close to all. National identity is what matters before anything else. His Royal Highness added that there should be more interaction amongst different parts of society to enhance social cohesion and integration.
His Royal Highness emphasised that political development should not seek short-term achievements, but aim for sustainable long-term solutions for the benefit of all citizens.
The leaders of the majlis all praised His Royal Highness for his visit, noting the role of dialogue to build alliances that best serve the Kingdom.
