Industry and Commerce, Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro visited Al Sultan Market in Hamad Town and Al Huly market in Aali on Saturday to assess the food supply and the prices in the local markets during the peak commodity consumption month of Holy Ramadan.
The Ministry emphasised that such visits will help MOIC efforts to control over local markets and supermarkets in the country and to stand on its developments and updates all the time.
The Minister was briefed on the availability of products especially ones that high demand in this holy month, expressing in this regard government’s appreciation for cooperation shown by concerned food companies and importers in order to provide consumers needs especially in this Holy month.
The Minister began his visit in Sultan market, where he was received by Majed Hani, who briefed the minister on market’s, stressing in this regard, the availability of a large inventory of all consumer goods, including those are increasing in demand during Ramadan. He added most materials are on promotional offers for Ramadan.
During a visit to Al Huly Supermarket in Aali, Dr. Fakhro was briefed on buying, selling, supply and demand operations, where Mr. Shaker Al Huly confirmed that the markets offers promotional campaign for many of the goods, which contributes to ease the burden on consumers.
The Minister affirmed on the importance of consumer communication to report on any complaint to stand on all the latest development in this vital sector.
