Minister of Health, Sadiq Bin Abdul Kareem Al Shehabi, who visited the Genetic Blood Diseases Center and the new morgue building, accompanied by Undersecretary of Ministry of Health, Dr. Aisha Mubarak Bu Onq and a number of senior officials in the ministry to review the vital projects that are being implemented by the ministry.
During the meeting, the minister urged the officials to accelerate the completion of those important projects, which aim at improving the patient’s health and gain the satisfaction of all the visitors of the ministry.
“The continuous development process, improving the health of the patient, and elevating the services at the Ministry of Health reinforce that the officials are performing their duties in order to provide better services to the patient,” the Minister said.
“The minister also urged on providing a great concern to the quality of the new projects and to speed up their completion for the service of the patients and their satisfaction, saying that the patient always has the priority in attaining all the services.
During his inspection visit to the genetic blood diseases center, which is scheduled to be completed and received by the ministry at the end of next August, the engineering crew and relevant officials presented a detailed explanation about the center, where they mentioned that the center includes four floors with the capacity of 90 beds.
They also highlighted that the center includes all the required departments and services to diagnose and treat the patients suffering genetic blood diseases, saying that the center has a ground floor and other three floors, where it embraces a section for accidents and emergencies, beds for children, beds for male adults, beds for female adults, in addition to private rooms, clinics, and treatment rooms.
The officials at the center also pointed out that it includes all the other support services, a waiting room, a reception desk, a day case unit and long-stay unit, entertainment rooms for children, rest-rooms, stores, rooms for consultants, rooms for waste, rooms for distributing meals, rooms for nurses in charge, meeting rooms, and a room for raising awareness and education.
The officials at the center stressed that the inauguration of the genetic blood diseases center will contribute in reducing the pressure and burden on the emergency department at Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC), as well as elevating the health services presented to such category of patients, saying that the center has a professional medical crew experienced in genetic blood diseases.
The minister also inspected the new morgue building, which has the capacity of 60 fridges, and the officials pointed out that the building is 90% ready, and it is scheduled to be inaugurated during next August. They also said that the morgue has a big space, and is connected to (SMC) through a special corridor that passes through the first floor to transport dead people directly from (SMC) to it.
At the end of his visit, the minister thanked all the affiliates of Ministry of Health, including the medical, administrative and engineering crews for their professionalism and cooperation to provide the best services to patients. He also called on exerting more efforts to develop the health facilities and improve the services presented to the visitors.
The minister also thanked (SMC) for all its efforts and what they provide of advance medical treatment in implementation of the directives of the wise leadership, who always urge to pay a great concern to the health of the community and provide all the preventive, therapeutic, diagnostic, and rehabilitative requirements, to enable Kingdom of Bahrain to provide the best services to citizens and residents.
