Minister of Human Rights, Dr. Salah Bin Ali Abdul Rahman, condemned the heinous terrorist bombing, which was committed in the car-parking of Isa Bin Salman Mosque in Riffa area, aiming to kill the worshippers who were performing Taraweeh prayers in this holy month.
“Such cowardly terrorist act is strange to the morals of Bahrainis, who always ask Allah to preserve Bahrain and its wise leadership, and its loyal people from any danger, and maintain its security and stability,” he said.
The minister said that Bahrain’s culture is based on tolerance, passion and respect of the other party, and discards violence, extremism, and fanaticism, seeking peaceful coexistence between the components of the Bahraini society, against hatred, and inciting on political violence which resorted to terrifying others and attacking them without a consideration of the sanctity of this holy month.
The minister added that the spread of the violence phenomenon either by speech, act, threat, or incitement to commit an act that morally or physically harm any human being, is considered a flagrant violation of the most basic principles of human rights and preserving their dignity, and contrary to the values and principles of the Islamic religion, and all the norms, conventions and international treaties.
The minister highlighted that any attempts to involve the people of Bahrain in internal troubles through plotting and distorting facts and misleading public opinion, will not succeed, for the wisdom of its leadership, and the loyal people of Bahrain. He also said that the continuity of crippling the democratic development and human rights course as well as preventing the state from performing its responsibilities will not be allowed and will be protected and defended, through the rule of law, and ensuring the security of the citizens, residents and visitors of Bahrain.
The minister called on the clergymen, the orators and the wise people of the society including the notables and leaders of the political associations and the institutions of the national civil society to perform their national and moral commitment through spreading the culture of national unity, and discarding violence and terrorism and deter anyone who drags the Kingdom to the cycle of violence and instability.
Dr. Salah also said that everyone’s priority should be devoted to unity of line and the formation of a broad national front to deter all the attempts to infringe on the security, stability and prosperity of the Kingdom.
The minister expressed his great trust in the capability of the security authorities to take the required measures to enforce law against all those who are involved in plotting, inciting or committing such terrorist crimes. He said that these acts want to spread the culture of horror, and follow the behaviour of sabotage and terrorism, and deprive the Bahraini citizens of their rights and freedoms, as well as living a decent life protected by the constitution and principles of human rights, particularly in the spirituality of this holy month.
Dr. Salah asked Almighty God to preserve the Kingdom either leadership or people from any harm and prevail security and stability.
