Tamkeen and Batelco signed an agreement to train 15 of Batelco’s Bahraini employees under Tamkeen’s Career Progression Programme, which seeks to enhance the capabilities and skills of Bahrainis to make them employees of choice in the private sector.
The training programme the employees will undergo includes specialised modules to develop effective leadership, problem solving and decision making skills relative to their positions and roles, as well as training the employees to enable them to develop high-performance teams at their work place.
The Career Progression Programme helps employers address skill gaps of their Bahraini employees by providing these employees with high-quality training opportunities to gain the necessary skills, leading to accelerated career growth and leadership opportunities within their organisations.
In addition to the training, beneficiaries receive a wage increase ranging from BD50 to BD100 on their basic salary depending on the training track selected by the employer. The wage increase is subsidised by Tamkeen for a maximum of 2 years.
“The Career Progression Programme is one of 39 programmes Tamkeen offers under its Fund Training and Development Project. This initiative provides a comprehensive set of solutions which enable enterprises in Bahrain to fill their employment needs and up-skill Bahraini employees, which ultimately boosts the private sector and national economy as a whole,” Tamkeen’s Acting Vice President, Human Capital Development, Amal Al-Kooheji, said.
“We are delighted to sign this agreement with Tamkeen to benefit from the Career Progression Programme, which will enhance the efficiency of Bahraini staff and create new opportunities for professional growth. We also look forward to establishing a strategic partnership with Tamkeen to further develop Bahraini human resources in all sectors, especially within telecommunications,” Batelco Bahrain’s Human Resources General Manager Suhaila Alnowakda, said.
To date, more than 77,000 Bahrainis and enterprises have benefited from Tamkeen’s programmes, with more than 150,000 beneficiaries set to benefit from these programmes in all.
