This week, VIVA footballers have been attending two football training sessions every day combined with interactive workshops and daily practice of short passing, dribbling, skill challenges and small-sided games under the supervision of UEFA qualified Manchester United Foundation coaches. The training program is based on the Manchester United Soccer Schools (MUSS) Development Model, where all VIVA players, were encouraged to grow in a variety of areas and were challenged to develop their technical skills, tactical understanding, physical and mental skills, in a positive learning environment.
The fantastic course has awarded each VIVA player a fascinating insight into how Manchester United prepares their youngsters enabling them to reach their optimum level of performance. Earlier in the day, VIVA footballers were divided into 2 groups to compete and battle it out on the pitch and demonstrate all the technical and social skills learnt over the past couple of days which included ‘Dominate the 1v1’, ‘Win the battle’, ‘Explosive play’, ‘Combine to attack’ and ‘Make it count’.
To mark the culmination of training, MUSS gold medals of participation and player development books were awarded to each of the VIVA footballers with a full-record of their week’s performance with areas of improvement to help them continue their soccer development.
