A ten-year Bahraini boy died of cancer in an Indian hospital in the state of Hyderabad.
Ali Jaafar Habeeb Ibrahim, who was diagnosed with malignant muscle tumor (Myosarcoma), was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad on June 17 for to undergo medical treatment.
The hospital authorities pronounced the patient dead at 12.50 AM (Hyderabad local time) and issued an official certificate stipulating cardiac failure as the cause of death, Health Ministry Public and International Relations said.
The deceased was admitted to Salmaniya Medical Complex on December 11, 2012 and was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer. He was discharged from Salmaniya Medical Hospital on December 25, 2012, at the request of his parents.
The family asked the Public Prosecution to conduct a post mortem autopsy on the corpse of the diseased which was flown back home on August8, to determine the cause of the death.
The SMC management contacted the bereaved family to ask them to report to the hospital for the coroner to conduct the autopsy – but to no avail. In a statement today, the health ministry extended sincere condolences to the family of the bereaved.
