Bahrain rolled out the red carpet for the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe who arrived on a two-day historic visit to the Kingdom on Saturday afternoon.
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa received his counterpart at Gudaibiya Palace, where an official reception was held for the Japanese Premier.
HRH the Premier of Bahrain and his Japanese Premier Abe held talks and discussed bilateral relations bonding the Kingdom of Bahrain and Japan.
HRH the Premier hailed Abe’s historic visit, commending Japan for supporting regional security and stability and backing the reform process in Bahrain.
He hailed strong relations in all fields, describing solid bilateral ties as a model to emulate for relations based on mutual respect and resolve to achieve joint interests.
HRH the Premier pointed out the challenges confronting the GCC member states, which impacted their development process.
“The GCC governments have succeeded in overcoming the challenges and embarking on further development achievements to enhance citizens’ standards of living”, HRH the Premier said.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe expressed his delight at visiting Bahrain to expand the scope of cooperation in all fields, as part of the current visit and discussions with his Bahraini counterpart.
He stressed the role of the historic visits of His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander to Japan.
Bahrain and Japan tonight voiced deep concerns over the untenable regional situation, warning against the detrimental impact of mounting unrest on future development.
