Fouad Rashid, Director of Bahrain Bourse (BHB) held talks with the investment advisors taking part in the TradeQuest Programme. The program is organized by Bahrain Bourse for secondary private school and university students in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Rashid praised the role of the investment advisors in the success of the program and appreciated their efforts and commitment to the program’s requirements despite that they already busy with their own job responsibilities.
Rashid clarified to the investment advisors that this program comes in line with implementing the Bourse’s strategic plan of which spreading investment awareness among Bahrainis and residents is one of its main objectives. BHB is currently working on developing the program in a way that will make it more beneficial for students mainly, as well as all parties involved in a way that can contribute to achieving the objectives of the program. Mr. Rashid also received opinions, comments, and recommendations from the investment advisors that will become the base to the development plan of the program in the coming years.
TradeQuest is a simulated business-education partnership program that focuses on investment trading in Bahrain Bourse and New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The program was conducted for the first time for secondary private school students in 1996 in cooperation with financial institutions and educational bodies in Bahrain. The Bourse adopted the program in 2010, and conducted it to universities for the first time in the school year 2012/2013.
The programme aims at stimulating relevant learning through realistic experience by learning the rules and regulations implemented in the program and analyzing, selecting, and trading shares of companies listed on Bahrain Bourse and New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
