Human Rights Minister Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdulrahman received Chairman of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Board of Commissioners Dr. Abdulaziz Abul, in the presence of board member Ahmed Sa’ati and NIHR Secretary General Dr. Ahmed Farhan.
He lauded the advanced level of cooperation between the Human Rights Ministry and NIHR in the human rights field.
He said Bahrain is at the threshold of a new phase of national work in light of the recommendations of the National Assembly which will top the government’s agenda as they are the voice of the people.
He stressed the ministry’s national partnership with NIHR regarding human rights issues, describing the institution’s statement following the declaration of the National Assembly’s recommendations as responsible and places the national interest above anything else while according importance to the constitutional and legal guarantees in all measures taken.
He underlined the importance of renouncing terrorism and fighting it with all possible legal measures to protect Bahrain for the present and future generations.
He affirmed that Bahrain can never be an arena for sectarian conflict or terror acts. “It will rather remain an oasis of tolerance, co-existence and generosity as well as a model of lofty Arab and Islamic values,” he said.
