Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe welcomed the decision of the Kingdom of Bahrain on lifting ban from the import of Japanese food items. The GCC had imposed import ban on food items following a Fukushima Nuclear disaster as a precaution of nuclear contamination.
“Bahrain is the first GCC country to ease the restrictions through necessary legislation and Japan expects the other GCC states will also follow the Kingdom,” Prime Abe’s Press Secretary Kuni Sato told the media at the conclusion of the two-day visit to Bahrain.
“Prime Minister Abe had discussed the issue with Crown Prince HRH Prince Salman during his visit to Japan and today Prime Minister Abe also personally thanked the Crown Prince,” Prime Abe’s Press Secretary Kuni Sato told the media at the conclusion of the two-day visit to Bahrain.
“In this regard, Japan welcomed Bahrain’s decision to lift its restrictions on food imports from Japan upon mutually decided terms,” she added.
