HM King, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, received, at Sukhair Palace; in the presence of HRH the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, Chung Houng-wan, who is currently on an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain as part of a regional tour.
HM underlined the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, lauding its progress in the fields of trade, economy and investment. “Bahrain gives great importance to its relations with Korea and benefits from its expertise in various fields so as to reinforce friendship and serve the interest of the peoples of both countries,” HM King added.
HM the King asserted the importance of the Korean Prime Minister’s visit to the Kingdom, saying it will have a constructive impact on strengthening bilateral cooperation and facilitating the engagement of the private sector.
HM the King said that Bahrain has created a positive atmosphere for investment and provided all the required facilities and procedures for investors and foreign capitals.
HM the King welcomed the results of the official talks held between HRH the Prime Minster and his Korean counterpart, stressing the importance of signing memoranda of understanding to boost joint cooperation that will contribute in enhancing bilateral cooperation which asserts both countries’ keen interest to develop the existing relations for the best interest of their peoples, highlighting Korea’s accomplishments in various fields.
He also commended the role of businessmen in strengthening commercial, economic and industrial cooperation through establishing joint projects that increase financial and investment exchange.
He cited that numerous Korean companies take Bahrain as operations headquarters which support and activates the Kingdom’s investment and commercial sector.
HM the King asked the Korean official to convey his greetings and good wishes to the President of the Republic of Korea Park Geun-hye and for the Korean people further progress and prosperity.
The meeting discussed regional and international issues of common concern where they affirmed the continuity of efforts to reinforce world peace and security. In appreciation for the efforts of the Korean Prime Minister, HM the King awarded him with the first class Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa medal.
Upon receiving the medal, the Korean official expressed thanks and appreciation to HM the King, wishing him continued health and success and to the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
