In the ongoing effort to protect the security, general order and safety of the country, Bahrain police have uncovered a series of areas that contained weapons to be used to endanger public safety and threaten national interests by engaging in acts of terror.
In August, police confiscated a variety of weapons and other contraband. 3 homemade bombs were found and contained by the Explosive Detection Team of the Anti-Terrorism Unit. A large number of ready-to-use Molotov cocktails were also found in addition to 11 homemade shotguns, ammunition, 13 gas cylinders, fire extinguisher guns, a large number of tyres, iron rods and other materials.
Police also removed a number of barriers and reopened blocked roads in various villages. The roads had been blocked in order to spread chaos and hinder public safety. The police will continue to deal effectively with any other threats to the public. All police actions will be conducted legally, professionally and competently in order to best serve the people of Bahrain.
