The Kingdom of Bahrain will setup Urban Security Command and Control Centre to bolster the security surveillance system across the Kingdom, it was revealed on Friday.
“The Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of South Korea will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to setup the state-of-the-art Centre in Manama during the historic visit to Bahrain by the Prime Minister Jung Hon-won of South Korea,” a top diplomat at the South Korean embassy told The24X7News.
“The Urban Security Command and Control Centre will provide an integrated system of a real time information through a network of close circuit TVs or cameras to the authorities to deal with civil defence and security related challenges,” Charge d’Affaires at South Korean Embassy Joonha Yu in an exclusive interview said.
The tripartite agreement will be signed by the Ministry of Interior Bahrain, Samsung S1 and Al Koohiji Group, distributors of Samsung in Bahrain. “Samsung S1 runs the largest control centre in Seoul and Bahrain’s Interior Minister Shaikh Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa during a visit to South Korea visit the Samsung S1 Control Centre.
“The MoU is a culmination of the visit of the South Korea by interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa who got detailed briefings during his Seoul visit on public safety, civil security. The Seoul and Manama will also share expertise in the areas of anti-terrorism, civil safety and preparedness of civil defence including the preventive measures on nuclear and other disasters,” Ambassador Joonha Yu explained.
The South Korean Prime Minister arrives on two day visit to Bahrain on Sunday 25th and will have meetings with his counterparts, leadership and top officials.
