The Government is in a critical stage of fighting to eliminate terrorism through its integrated programme to combat such violence and punish the perpetrators and instigators, as well as those who provide legitimacy and political cover for acts of terrorism, including those who support and call others to break the law.
This was stated by HRH Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister, who chaired a high level meeting held at Gudaibiya Palace on Monday, and reiterated the Government’s resolve to deal with such individuals according to the most severe measures the law allows in response to the recommendations of the National Assembly – who were elected by their constituents to represent the will of the people – and will not allow anything to compromise the safety, stability, and normal daily life in the Kingdom.
During a the Premier stressed that the purpose of meeting was to follow up on the implementation of the Anti-Terror recommendations and review the precautions taken by the relevant Ministries and government entities in case of any emergency, as well as to check on the progress made in the work of the Security and Civil Committees that were commissioned to implement the recommendations. HRH the Prime Minister noted that 17 out of 22 recommendations submitted by the National Assembly have been fully implemented including the legislative part which has been fully completed, and followed up on the stages of the remainder of the recommendations’ implementation with regard to Security and Civil matters.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the government will not tolerate any attempt to destabilize the Kingdom and drag the country into chaotic rioting and terrorism, and that the government will respond to any efforts to do so supported by the full power of the law in keeping with the National Assembly’s recommendations to protect society from violent crimes and terrorism.
HRH Prince Khalifa Bin Salman stressed the need to speed up the procedures for the implementation of these security measures to be immediate in order to preserve public and private interests. These actions by the government are to protect citizens and residents in the villages and towns throughout the Kingdom from attempts by militant groups using violence and rioting to terrorize them and deny their source of income by blocking roads and forcing them to close their businesses.
The Prime Minister confirmed that the implementation of these Anti-Terror measures will be monitored very closely and that he personally will follow up on every update to see it through to completion, in order to eliminate terrorism and provide all citizens a safe and stable society, free from violence, terrorism and sectarian exploitation.
