Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) to re-open Dar An-Naft building starting from September 1st, 2013, after the completion of the required maintenance processes for all its facilities.
Marking the occasion, Director of Public Relations, Naji Ahmed highlighted that Dar An-Naft welcomes its kind visitors from the public starting from the first of September, every Friday from 9am to 5pm. at the Museum’s location in Jabal Ad-Dokhan, adding that the preparation of the visits to Dar An-Naft is carried out in coordination with Public Relations at Bapco.
The Director of Public Relations stressed that Dar An-Naft has been recently developed to become an educational center and a historical reference on the oil industry in the country, for it includes rare historical collectibles and exhibits which tell the story of discovering oil, starting form searching for it. They also tell how the oil was discovered and developed, in addition to its impacts on the social and economic life aspects at the level of Bahrain, countries of the region and other states in the world.
The Director of Public Relations also said that Dar An-Naft, which is managed by Bapco, contains several rare pictures, documents, maps and other historical collectibles, asserting that Bapco allocates a great concern to such vital facility, considering it a prominent landmark in the old and modern history of Bahrain, and a live witness on the various stages the oil industry has gone through during the past eighty years.
