The Ministry of Foreign Affairs here summoned the Chargé d’Affaires of the Lebanese Republic to the Kingdom to express its strong dissatisfaction with the Press conference held in Beirut for a campaign entitled August 14, during which a call for civil disobedience in the Kingdom was made.
This came as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary, Ambassador Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, summoned the Chargé d’Affaires at the Ministry, where he expressed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to develop its relations with the Lebanese Republic in the interest of their citizens.
He stressed that bilateral relations should remain between the two countries free from interference in internal affairs.
He further expressed in this regard dissatisfaction with this unacceptable behavior and called on the Lebanese Chargé d’Affaires to convey the dissatisfaction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to his country’s government in this regard.
The Lebanese Chargé d’affaires affirmed his rejection of what took place at the Press conference, expressing the commitment of Lebanon to many principals including the Lebanese government not allowing the country to become an outlet for directing any hostility against the Kingdom of Bahrain.
He also stressed Lebanon’s commitment to the principle of non-interference in internal affairs, promising to convey and follow up the issue immediately with top government officials and the Foreign Ministry in Beirut.
