The fourth High Criminal Court decided to adjourn to August 19 the Riffa Mosque blast case in order to bring the three defendants to the court, which was not possible today for security reasons, as outlined in a letter sent by the investigations authorities in this regard.
The identities of the suspects implicated in the crime, which occurred on July 17, were identified through the CCTV security cameras reviews and analysis of DNA.
The crime scene was inspected, and then they were arrested after the Public Prosecution had issued a warrant to track them down and bring them to justice.
The Public Prosecution carried out the needed investigations into the incident and referred the three suspects to the Criminal Court.
The three defendants are facing charges including forming an illegal group to disrupt the law and prevent the state’s institutions from doing their work, violating citizens’ personal freedom, undermining national unity, giving money to the afore-mentioned group in spite of knowing about their terror activities, stealing two cars, carrying out the explosion for terrorist ends and possessing an un-authorised explosive device.
