A Government of India organization, the Export Promotion Council for EOUs and SEZs plans to participate in Bahrain’s premier India-focused event with a strong delegation and exhibitors from a wide range of exporters.
This was announced by the Chairman of the council P. C. Nambiar at New Delhi after a meeting with Bahrain’s envoy, Ambassador Mohammed Ghassan Shaikho and First Secretary, Maram Al Saleh.
The event will take place at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre from 22 to 24, October 2013.
The Export Promotion Council for EOUs and SEZs (EPCES) has been set- up by the department of commerce of the Government of India to service the export promotional needs of Export Oriented Units (EOUs) and Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Units in the country. This Council is a multi-product and scheme specific Export Promotion Council. The EOUs/SEZ Units cover major industrial sectors, like Textiles, Garments and Yarn, Food and Agro Products, Electronics and Software, Chemical, Engineering, Minerals, Granite, etc.
“We are impressed with the objectives of the Bahrain India Exhibition and Conference and how its arrangements are expected to energise the longstanding trade relationship between India and Bahrain,” P. C. Nambiar, Chairman, Export Promotion Council for Eous and SEZS, said.
“This announcement by a Leading Export promotion organization of the Department of Commerce of the Government of India is an approval of Bahrain’s efforts to enhance the bilateral trade relations with India,” Ambassador Shaikho, said.
The Council held a meeting with exporters interested in participating in the exhibition and conference. It was attended by the Director of the Department of Commerce, Sanjeet Singh, along with Confederation of Indian Industry Senior Advisor, Gurpal Singh and Bahrain – India Economic Partnership Conference and Exhibition Managing Director, Roy Mathew.
“We are excited about this opportunity and look forward to exploring partnerships between Indian exporters and Bahrain’s business community,” Nambiar said.
The first ever ‘Bahrain-India Economic Partnership Conference and Exhibition to promote bilateral trade and investments between both the countries is being organized under the patronage of the Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Kingdom of Bahrain in cooperation with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
The Confederation of Indian Industry will lead a high level delegation from India consisting of Ministers, Government officials and Industry leaders and conduct the Conference themed ‘Bahrain – India Economic Partnership: Springboard to Access Wider Markets’.
The Indian Embassy in Bahrain, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Bahrain Embassy in India are actively supporting the event.

Hence we expect the Bahrain – India Economic Partnership Conference and Exhibition to be a success for businesses of both the countries,” Roy Mathew, Managing Director of the organizing committee, said.
