His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held in the British capital, London, talks with British Prime Minister David Cameron the existing excellent bilateral relations and ways and means of bolstering them as well as issues of common interest.
HM the King expressed thanks and respect for the UK’s supportive stances to Bahrain which asserts historic relations between the two friendly countries.
He also hailed joint efforts of the UK and the GCC countries to maintain regional peace and security and promote trade relations.
He pointed out Bahrain’s keenness to purchase the British Typhoon warplanes to make them part of the GCC defence system.
HM the King underscored the relentless efforts of the GCC member states to combat terrorism which threatens their societies and growing economies, lauding strong cooperation with the UK in this respect.
Concerning the situation in Egypt, HM the King emphasised keenness of Bahrain and the GCC countries on maintaining Egypt’s security and stability to help it resume its regional and international role and achieve the aspirations of the Egyptian people.
Marking the distinguished 200-year-old historic relations between both countries and their strategic alliance, both leaders agreed at the meeting to set up a joint committee to celebrate bilateral relations which are witnessing perpetual progress at all levels.
