President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, HH Shaikh Abdullah Bin Khalid Al Khalifa lauded the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa in preserving security and stability in Kingdom of Bahrain. HH Shaikh Abdullah also highlighted the great role played by the respected government chaired by the Prime Minister, HRH Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, and the close follow-up of the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and First Deputy Premier, HRH Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Upon chairing the regular session of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs this morning, HH Shaikh Abdullah praised the efforts done by Interior Ministry and the measures taken to preserve security and stability in all parts of the Kingdom, expressing his appreciation of adopting the highest degrees of self-restraint and wisdom in addressing the disruption of security, which led to the feeling of peace.
HH Shaikh Abdullah also praised the citizens’ awareness and keenness on civil safety, social security and the constructive cooperation for the service of their homeland.
HH Shaikh Abdullah asserted that stabilizing security is one of the basic pillars where the society develops and grows at all religious, political, economic, cultural and social levels, reinforcing the need to preserve such great blessing from God for a promising future of welfare and progress.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs expressed its thanks and appreciation for HM King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa on the inauguration of Bahrain Qur’an, stressing that such step is considered one of the greatest achievements that has been accomplished in the prosperous era of HM the King.
During its session held today, the Council highlighted that the inauguration of the Qur’an stresses its importance in the cultural, civilized and development activities in Kingdom of Bahrain, out of its role in elevating the noble values, encouraging goodness and reform and the contribution in constructing the Islamic Character of the Muslim Bahrain Society.
The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs considered printing Bahrain’s Qur’an as a great honour, and a cause for pride, pointing out that it is a support for the Quranic activity and its tributary.
During its session, the Council expressed thanks and appreciation for the Global calligrapher Professor Osman Taha on his great effort in writing Bahrain’s Qur’an, as well as thanking the committee who reviewed the Qur’an chaired by Shaikh Dr. Ahmed Bin Isa Alma’sarawi, the General Shaikh of the Egyptian Qur’an Reciters, the Chairman of the Holy Qur’an Review Committee at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.
In a related context, the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs announced that HH Shaikh Abdullah Bin Khalid Al Khalifa will lay on Monday the foundation stone for the late Shaikh Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s Mosque, in Awali area, God rest his soul in eternity.
The Council stated that the project will be the biggest Islamic edifice embraced by the Southern Governorate, for it will be established on an area of nearly 30,000 square meters, with an estimated budget of BD3.8 million and will be completed in 24 months.
The Mosque consists of two floors in accordance with the architectural schemes, and will absorb more than 4600 worshippers, surrounded by gardens and green areas, with a group of corridors that lead to the entrances of the mosque, where parking areas were allocated for more than 600 cars.
Marking the occasion, the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs highlighted that there will be a small ceremony including some speeches, in addition to a brief presentation on the project and its most important stages.
The Council discussed the issues scheduled on the agenda, starting with the establishment of an institute for the different Quranic recitations, and the preparation of teachers of the Holy Qur’an, stressing the importance of such kind of projects that serve the Holy Qur’an and reinforce the role of recitation centers spread all over the Kingdom.
The Council also discussed the reports of the committees concerned with a number of draft laws, and law proposals referred to the Council from the Councils of Shura and Representatives seeking the legitimate opinion, where the Council took the necessary decisions, as well as reviewing the received letters and requests from some official and civil bodies and individuals, where it referred them to the relevant committees for study.
