His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the numerous achievements brought about in his era.
He was speaking as he received at Gudaibiya Palace a number of senior officials, Shura Council members, MPs, clerics, the Intelligentsia, media persons and citizens.
He pledged never to allow terrorism to tarnish Bahrain’s beautiful image and undermine its security and stability.
He said Bahrain will soon turn a page of its history, thanks to its people’s stance, to start a new phase of construction and development.
He affirmed that the failure of those who wanted to do harm to Bahrain is a success to the Bahraini people who firmly rejected the conspiratorial calls for sedition and instability.
He urged to continue defending the homeland and boosting national unity, commending people’s awareness and their ability to heed the plots being woven against their country.
“The will of the one million Bahrainis has been able to foil the plots of millions who dedicated their resources and cunning mass media to target Bahrain. We shall say to those go back to Bahrain’s history and read how this people drew heroic epics in thwarting conspiracies to realise who you are dealing with. The present generation is an extension of those heroes,” HRH the Prime Minister said.
He pointed out that decisiveness which characterised the government’s work in dealing with terrorism was derived from the power of the people and was a natural reaction to meet the requirements of the current phase.
He urged all to be up to the responsibilities entrusted with them, asserting that there should be no hesitation or laxity in fulfilling the will of the people and ensuring Bahrain’s security and stability.
He vowed to overcome all security challenges, urging those who veered off the right path to go back to it. He said the government is dealing with a situation in which some people have abandoned their responsibilities and instead of providing advice and good guidance, they chose to incite violence.
He pledged to root out terrorism and hold all those behind it accountable, criticising some organisations for showing no reaction against engaging children by some parties in Bahrain in violence and systematic terrorism.
He said the Bahraini society will always remain strong and united in confronting challenges threatening national security and stability. “Anyone who thinks of or tries to divide the Bahraini society will never succeed,” HRH asserted, calling to be cautious of what is going around in the region.
“Bahrain may be small in size but it is big with its people. It will never drown, thanks to God and cohesion of its people, in the cauldron of anarchy and sabotage,” he stressed, vowing zero tolerance of terrorists and lawbreakers.
He also commended the role of journalists and media persons in defending national issues and highlighting threats to the nation.
