Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) has announced the full acquisition of HOCHTIEF Facility Management Bahrain (HTFMBA) and the buyout of the 50% shares in the joint venture. The 50% stake will add to BAC’s existing 50% of the joint venture to making it a 100% Bahraini Company fully owned by BAC.
Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah, Chief Executive Officer of BAC, explained that Wednesday’s announcement comes after HOCHTIEF Services Solutions has been put for sale internationally as a result of a restructuring exercise the company has been undertaking. He also added “We closely monitor the market trends and opportunities that enable us in fulfilling our commitment to service excellence. In keeping with our mission to enhance the airport’s capabilities and diversify its’ revenue streams, we envision valuable business potential following the full acquisition of HOCHTIEF Facility Management Bahrain Airport.”
Al Binfalah confirmed this move will not impact the operations and business will run as usual. Effective from today, the company will commence operations under the new identify and name “BAC Facilities Management W.L.L”
Since appointed in 2010 by BAC to manage the airport’s facilities, HOCHTIEF Facility Management Bahrain Airport provided its’ services for the airport terminal building, apron, fire building, hangers, cargo halls, and administration buildings.
BAC is the company responsible for operating and managing Bahrain International Airport as a friendly and efficient airport. As part of it’s’ operator role, BAC is responsible for elevating the airport’s infrastructure and services. This set to improve the Kingdom‘s aviation capabilities; and to cater for the growing number of passengers as well as the changing demands of the airport’s stakeholders.
