The Director-General of the Central Governorate Police announced that the Bomb Squad and Anti-Terrorism Unit defused on Tuesday morning a home-made bomb planted on Shaikh Salman Road in Isa Town, near Riffa.
He said that the operation room received at 8:02 am a call reporting two suspicious objects at the location, adding that the teams were immediately deployed and after examining the objects they found that the first was a fake bomb, while the other was a gas cylinder with a detonator.
He noted that the Public Prosecution was notified and that an investigation was launched to bring the suspects to justice.
He called upon the public to avoid touching strange objects and to report them to 999 for their safety.
